College Scholarship Program

The late ALPS director Geri Brasher Phemister established the ALPS Scholarship program to provide college scholarships to students intending to pursue an environment related curriculum. At a gathering with her friends, the seed money was donated to establish the scholarship program. Since then other generous donors have augmented the scholarship program which has enabled ALPS to continue offering scholarships. ALPS’ Scholarship Committee reviews student applications and selects the scholarship winner who is then invited to a Board Meeting to meet all of ALPS’ directors, talk about college and career goals, and receive the award check. ALPS is delighted to help facilitate the education of students in an environmental science or conservation related field so they are prepared to improve the environment of our central coast region and our world.
