Stadium Park/Stadium Lane & Bill Shepard Native Garden Planting Projects

Several planting and other tree regeneration efforts have been implemented at Stadium Park. ANTA assisted ALPS in planting the Bill Shepard Native Garden, including installation of the coast live oaks in this demonstration garden area. The Bill Shepard Native Garden is in Stadium Lane, owned and maintained by ALPS.

ANTA also planted seedling blue oaks near Pinal Road in 2009 in the upper portion of Stadium Park. These trees are regularly maintained to ensure mulch is adequate and weeds are removed from browse protection cages. ALPS now maintains these plantings, and also protects naturally recruited seedlings with mulch and browse protection in the bowl of Stadium Park to encourage survival and regeneration of the native forest in this City-owned open space.
