Fallen Oak Tree at Three Bridges Oak Preserve
September 30, 2024
The Trail Crew had to come to the recue. A large Live Oak uprooted and fell across the trail at the upper junction of the Oak Woodland Loop Trail. The fallen oak blocked off trail access on the loop and to the upper trails, the Lookout and Madrone Trails.
Six Trail Crew members put in three hours of labor to cut up and remove the very large tree.
It saddens us to see such beautiful trees suddenly come falling down. Unfortunately as the tree draw more water during the late summer hot days, they sometimes don't have the strength to hold onto large branches or stay rooted to the ground. We all need to plant oak trees wherever we can to help regenerate these beautiful trees for future generation! Atascadero wouldn't be so special if it were not for our 2 million oak trees!
